Using manual-feed with a scanner

To use manual-feed on a scanner, you need to fix a pegbar beside the scanner bed. The pegbar can go on any side of the scanner bed. You don't need to be absolutely accurate in lining up the pegbar parallel to the scan bed, because the scanning software compensates for any misalignment.

You then need to calibrate the scanner, so that Animo 2.0 knows the position of the pegbar, and remembers it for the future. From then on, all scans you make with that pegbar in that position will be correctly aligned, and registered to the pegbar.

Note that if you ever move the pegbar, you need to calibrate the scanner again.

We'll tell you how to calibrate a scanner when you get to the relevant stage of this guide (Calibrating the scanner).

How to put drawings in a manual-feed scanner

Simply place the drawing to be scanned, face down, on the pegbar.

Drawings that are scanned without alignment

If you try to scan a drawing on a scanner that hasn't been calibrated, Animo 2.0 displays an alert panel.
